Rushcliffe Enhanced Access Service

As a Rushcliffe patient you can access routine appointments in the evenings and at weekends. These appointments are best suited for things that will not need ongoing review by your usual practice.

You can book through your surgery during opening hours, for appointments between 6.30pm and 8pm in the evening on weekdays and between 8.30am and 5.00pm at weekends. If you request one of these appointments, which are outside of usual working hours you will be offered a slot with a Rushcliffe GP, Nurse, Healthcare Assistant or First Contact Physiotherapist at one of four locations across the borough.
The location will depend on the day of your appointment.

The additional evening and weekend appointments will be available at:
• East Bridgford Medical Centre
• Castle Healthcare Practice in West Bridgford
• Keyworth Medical Practice

  • East Leake Health Centre

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL EXTENDED HOURS APPOINTMENTS ARE PREBOOKABLE ONLY BY CONTACTING YOUR OWN GP PRACTICE.
THERE IS NO WALK IN SERVICE OFFERED.

IF YOU REQUIRE URGENT ASSISTANCE BEFORE 8AM OR AFTER 6.30PM, PLEASE CALL 111.

Out of Hours & Emergencies

NEMS Out of Hours (01509 672419)

Calls will be transferred automatically to a clinician working with NEMS who provide the out of hours service. All contact details are transmitted electronically to the medical practice the following morning. This service is for problems which cannot wait until the next available surgery but do not require Emergency Department care.

NHS 111

You can call 111 when you need medical help fast but it’s not a 999 emergency. Available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

NHS 111 Online

A fast and convenient alternative to the 111 phone service and provides an option for people who want to access 111 digitally.

NHS Walk-In Centres

Mainly nurse-led facilities that provide treatment for minor ailments such as infections, lacerations (minor cuts or wounds) and fractures. No appointment is needed for this service. Please see the map.

Emergency Departments

You can call 999 or directly attend an Emergency Department for serious and life threatening injuries or illnesses. Please see the map.

Please use the below map to find the local walk-in centres and emergency departments and their relation to the surgeries. NEMS (green pin) does NOT offer a walk in service and should be contacted on the number opposite, you will be invited down should the need arise.

Home Visits

We offer home visits to patients who are housebound or requiring end of life care. We request that all other patients attend the surgery for their appointments. It is important that we are able to use the most appropriate examination facilities and equipment to provide you with high quality care.

If you or your carer requests a home visit, you will receive a telephone call from a GP to discuss the most appropriate management for your problem.

If you think you may need a home visit, please contact the surgery in the morning wherever possible.
